Dinosaur World Florida Plant City – Our Family Review

Published on 05/28/23: Who knows Dinosaur World or has driven by their huge T-Rex on I-4? Colt’s head usually swivels like an owl as we pass, so we finally visited! It moved up my “to-do” list when a follower said they offer gem mining and a fossil dig, both up Colt’s alley. Always appreciate your recommendations, keep them coming!

Dinosaur World Has Great Reviews

Dinosaur World has 4.5/5 stars on Google with 5,600+ reviews and is now part of my #LovingStPeteDayTrips series. Side note, as we head into summer, look for a few extra @LovingStPete posts on nearby family activities. This includes great local parks and playgrounds with zip lines, rescue animals, and wildlife. All are free or almost free.

Many Reasons to Purchase a Dinosaur World Annual Pass

Back to Dinosaur World! Amy summed up our visit by saying she would definitely buy the annual pass for $49.95/adult and $34.95/child, if we lived closer. Reasons include playground, sprayground, interactive exhibits, lots of shade all over the park, education, plus the 200+ life size dinosaurs naturally have the kids exploring the 20 acres with limited complaints. Lastly, annual pass holders receive 50% off at quite a few Tampa Bay family friendly attractions.

Kids Know Lots About Dinosaurs

So…a few minutes into our visit, I quickly learned our experience included a 7 year old know-it-all narrator. In all fairness, Colt is way more up to date on his dino facts than dad. “No no no, that one only eats vegetables daddy”. “Daaaaad, that one is just a baby, it’s going to get a lot bigger”. Despite the tone, was great to see him engaged and learning even more facts along the way. I’m sure those of you with young kids or grandkids would see the same on your visit.

I should note, even the Dinosaur World Florida Facebook page is worth a follow for their content and facts. They also post Dino jokes: “What do you call a dinosaur with an extensive vocabulary? A thesaurus!” Perfect addition to any dad joke repertoire. Ha.

Mike Braswell is a Tampa Bay Realtor, serving St Petersburg, Clearwater, all nearby beaches and more. Mike started LovingStPete in October of 2020 after a difficult year took its toll on local businesses. After being cooped up for portions of 2020 (lockdown) Mike and his son decided to get out and explore, helping spread the good word about the local area he loves so much. Often even doing gift card giveaways to support local. LovingStPete is now followed by over 48 thousand people on social media! The majority of posts are informative on fun parks, activities, day trips, great restaurants, and in general provide a comprehensive tour of the area!

Soon after receiving his bachelors in Management Information Systems, Mike developed and then operated a vacation rental advertising business for 10+ years as CEO/Owner. The business was eventually acquired by VRBO. Mike has earned the trust of many large clients over the years. Such as NFL, Wynn Resorts, Blue Cross Blue Shield, VISA, Genuine Parts Company (NAPA Auto Parts), AT&T, and other Fortune 500 companies.

When not spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic son, Mike enjoys boating and is also an avid tennis player. An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
