As we wind down December posts, I’m finding that golf cart and boat parades are a hit with many of you. With that in mind, next year (late November) I’ll post a reminder with a list of some upcoming dates/times around Pinellas County!
Christmas Golf Cart Parades Around St Petersburg
If you aren’t familiar with the local golf cart parades, they’re the tropical neighborhood equivalent of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Okay, not the same, but many of them are as much fun in our family’s opinion. Here’s a video I took of the one in Shore Acres a few days ago. There were hundreds of decorated golf carts and even more spectators.
What to Bring to A Golf Car Parade
Typically, spectators bring out lawn chairs and beverages to watch from their lawns. Those who don’t live in the area simply use the parks along the path or other public areas for viewing.
For those who own a golf cart, anyone can typically participate! Simply either meet at the starting location or join in somewhere along the path. Big props to those who coordinate these activities! In the case of the Shore Acres parade, Wes Snapp even organized food trucks and a pre-party (2 hours early) at the starting line!
