The Book Rescuers! Any readers in the @LovingStPete family? Who knows this incredible and affordable spot with 40K+ books? If you don’t, and you know a reader, do them a favor and share this with them! They’ll most certainly thank you, as will the kind owners, George and Sarah Brooks.
Books Range from $1-$8 – Cheap!
Most books are only $1-$3, with the highest priced books being the $8 Antiquarian (100+ yr old). All are organized well and ready for purchase!
George and Sarah are the locals who came up with the idea to “rescue” the books. They come from estate sales, donations, schools, and places that shred books. Many of these books would have otherwise been goners. 😬 I’m putting together a video of an interview I did with George on this topic, more to come.
Book Rescuers Sells More Than Books
As a bonus, the Book Rescuers rescue even more than books. For instance, they sold an original 1977 Star Wars soundtrack (with everything inside of it) for a dollar! You’ll find kid’s books, educational books, DVD’s, vinyl, Blu-Ray, paperback, hardcover, oversized and vintage, plus Antiquarians!

George and Sarah are also big supporters of our community, including teachers. For instance, at the beginning of each month you can tag a teacher to enter them into a $100 book giveaway. When the winning teacher is selected, they’ll receive a $100 shopping spree at the store!
My wife has been a regular for 2+- years, ever since they opened. Colt and I finally had a chance to tag along this weekend and I’m so glad we did. Colt spent lots of time in the kids section, he was definitely into it.
