Mike Braswell – The LovingStPete Team!
- Founder and President (five years) of a local non-profit for Mike’s alma mater. The non-profit gathers together frequently to foster their school’s spirit, though additionally they grant collegiate scholarship awards to Pinellas County students. With support from his Board of Directors, Mike organizes and hosts 18+ local events annually to support the cause. Six scholarship awards have been granted to local students, and the endowment is now fully funded, granting an award annually via interest! Mike and his board of directors hosted an event at Raymond James stadium that was attended by 1000 people over the course of 5 hours! They frequently host events with 75+ people.
- Organized multiple storm relief efforts. For example, an event at 3 Daughters’ Brewing resulted in thousands of donated items for SW Florida. The donations filled the Cajun Navy and other organizations in Pine Island to capacity. On other occasions Mike has leveraged his following and the wonderful St Pete community to help distraught homeowners. From donated trailers and bobcats to gloves and bleach (and everything in between), the LovingStPete community came together to help a number of homeowners after the storms.
- Purchased $1K+ of lacrosse gear, organized coaches, rented fields, and launched free lacrosse clinics in NE St Pete. Grateful for volunteer coaches who stepped up to assist in the summer of 2024! Unfortunately, Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton displaced our coaches and affected our overall community, resulting in a pause of the program. We plan to circle back and re-launch.
- Mike’s family serve frequently at his local church on the “Dream Team”. His wife leads the “greeters”, while Mike and his son help with setup, direct parking, and occasionally utilize the golf cart to bring people from the overflow parking to the main entrance. The church is attended by 1000+. Mike and his wife also lead a weekly married group at church.
