Blossom Lake Park in Seminole Florida – Near St Petersburg

Published on 06/26/23: Need more weekends and less Mondays. Regardless, hope everyone had a nice one!

Continuing my series on nearby parks and preserves, this one goes out to those with kids or grandkids. A shaded playground with a cool zip line. Anyone know Blossom Lake Park or know a child who might enjoy a zip line?

Parks with Ziplines around St Petersburg

Three posts ago, I wrote up George McGough Nature Park (aka The Narrows) which has a much larger zip line, suitable for older children. It also has animal exhibits, rescued birds of prey, and trails. All free. Blossom Lake park is a much smaller park, though great for a family outing! Blossom Lake Park
Blossom Lake Park connects to the Pinellas Trail & includes “a 1/3-mile fitness trail, basketball court, gazebos with charcoal grills, fishing lake, two playground areas, horseshoe pits and a multipurpose ball field”. The City of Seminole Recreation Department apparently gave a $550K overhaul to this park 2-3 years ago.

Blossom Lake Playground is Shaded (mostly)

While it hindered some of my pics, one of the best aspects of the park is the abundant shade. Most of the playground at Blossom Lake is fortunately built under a canopy of trees. The zip line and some swings are not, but 7/8th of the playground is shaded. Somewhat dependent on time of day you visit.
I’ll post a ‘story’ on social media with video so you can see the zip line in action. Like I say, the Narrows zip line is certainly longer, but this one is great for younger kids. I mean, Colt’s 8 and he still had a big smile on his face while zipping along. There’s also plenty of swings, slides, a balance beam, monkey bars, etc.
