Boat parades are certainly a popular holiday activity around Pinellas County. Keep them on your radar if you’ve never been to one. If you’ve have, which one(s) do you typically attend? Treasure Island, Shore Acres, St Pete Beach, Madeira Beach and other areas typically host one in December. There are quite a few others around the Tampa Bay area!

While I typically don’t post event schedules (events are added daily in St. Pete, tough to maintain), next year I’ll try to post a list of the nearby boat parades in case you enjoy them as much as our family. If you’re a boat owner, makes for a fun night to decorate your boat and cruise around.

Smack’s Bayou Boat Parade near Snell Isle / Shore Acres

This video of mine is of the recent Smack’s Bayou Boat Parade near Snell Isle / Shore Acres. From Cousin Eddie’s boat and Elvis impersonator to what appears to be a ‘night club’ boat at the end 😂, you never know what you might see. The group at St. Raphael Catholic Church did it up right, allowing residents to use their lawn area for viewing. They even had food trucks and a band. We also lucked out with a nearly full moon.

The boat parades we’ve seen around Pinellas have been open to anyone, both watching as well as participating. Just like a regular parade, spectators line up to watch as the decorated boats cruise by with their music and decorations.

We’re all lucky to live within 20-30 minutes of the water, whether it’s Tampa Bay or the Gulf of Mexico! Hope you’re able to head out and see a boat parade this weekend!
