Christmas Toy Shop Project Near Downtown St Petersburg

Published on 12/06/23: The amazing The Christmas Toy Shop Project, Inc. in St Pete! After spending an hour onsite yesterday with Linda, Karen, Paul, and others, I’m floored. Going on 102 years now…this huge building and operation is open year-round.

The Christmas Toy Shop is a non-profit and serves children of Pinellas County, providing gifts that might otherwise not be possible. This is the closest version of Santa’s workshop that I’ve ever seen. Even a grinch’s heart would grow by 3 sizes with one look around.

How You Can Help The Christmas Toy Shop:

🎄Donate new & used toys + bikes for ages 1-12
🎄THIS SUNDAY (12/10 from 3pm-7pm) bring your toys to family friendly Cage Brewing! I’m co-sponsoring a Pro Wrestling toy drive. All proceeds benefit the Christmas Toy Store. A wrestling event just makes sense, right? Ha. More on that below. Side note, Cage Brewing hosts fantastic events for families…on my list to write up.
🎄Volunteer to organize, clean, and sort toys
🎄 Donate funds to their 501c3

Volunteers at The Christmas Toy Shop

When you visit the Toy Store, note the volunteer elves polishing toys, counting puzzle pieces, making bikes look new again, and combing doll’s hair. The level of detail is remarkable, ensuring children receive ‘like new’ toys.
My friend Mark at the St. Pete Bike Co-op (prior Loving St Pete post) originally mentioned the toy shop while I was onsite. This led to Googling…where I noticed a gentleman was hosting an annual toy drive “wrestling event” at Cage Brewing. Huh?

Wrestling Fundraiser for Christmas Toy Shop in St Pete

But wait, “all proceeds benefit the Christmas Toy Shop!” Ding ding ding. And I noticed they needed $ sponsors. I donated a couple weeks ago, though paused on mentioning until I did a bit more recon. I now have a much clearer picture after yesterday’s visit!
The Christmas Toy Shop said Hope For The Holidays Pro wrestling event is VERY successful and many of their staff attend each year. As to how pro wrestling aligns with the Toy Shop, “it’s fun and the results speak for themselves. We needed a U-Haul to bring the donations back to the toy shop”. They said Logan has been steadfast in his support – they’re grateful for his efforts.

Often even doing gift card giveaways to support local. LovingStPete is now followed by over 48 thousand people on social media!
