Clearwater Threshers Baseball in Clearwater

Published on 06/28/21: Did you know you can sit behind home plate for and watch our local professional baseball team? And in a ballpark with a huge tiki bar in the outfield? Well, you can, so we checked it out on Saturday! I highly recommend you do the same if you haven’t already!

I’m talking about Clearwater Threshers Baseball, the Minor League team in Clearwater. A friend suggested Baycare Ballpark when I was looking for a sporting event where 25+ of us could sit *together* and catch-up. It’s family friendly, affordable ($6-$11, age 4 and under are free), has berms in the outfield for kids to run around and there’s a great post-game fireworks show on certain nights. There’s also plenty of food & drink options, a pitching machine to test your arm, a playground, plus Frenchy’s Tiki Pavilion!

For instance on 6/29, “The fan favorite returns with $1 hot dogs, 12 oz. fountain sodas, 16 oz. domestic drafts, peanuts, popcorn, & other concession goodies.” Those are all $1 items! Plus, $1 berm tickets!

You may want to consider attending on July 2nd/3rd, when they’ll host Independence Day Celebrations both evenings w/ the largest Threshers postgame fireworks shows of the season. I can tell you the show on Saturday was HUGE, they go all out!

Few Notes on what to expect at a Clearwater Threshers Baseball game:

-Parking is $3 and nearby
-No bags nor backpacks allowed except “single compartment purses, medical bags & diaper bags”
-No food, bottles, cans, coolers or personal chairs
-Blankets are permitted for berm seating
-Most games are in the evening, limiting the heat issue
-Foul balls can of course be kept. (Colt was given ball in first 5 minutes!)
-Gates open 1 hr prior to game time, except Saturdays (5pm for 6:30 p.m. game)
-Wheelchair seating is avail via ticket office/phone
-Baycare Ballpark is only 28 minutes from downtown (ie from the Trop)

Soon after receiving his bachelors in Management Information Systems, Mike developed and then operated a vacation rental advertising business for 10+ years as CEO/Owner. The business was eventually acquired by VRBO. Mike has earned the trust of many large clients over the years.
