Downtown St Petersburg for Christmas Holidays

Published on 12/19/22: Good morning! For the Leg Lamp winners, simply scroll down. Last night I posted a ‘story’ of the drawing. Colt was excited, to say the least. Ha, check it out. I suppose this IS a “major award!”. Congratulations and thank you for following the new LovingStPete YouTube Channel! I’ll do another giveaway fairly soon. Simply subscribe here for free: https://m.youtube.com/@lovingstpete/

Onto another activity suggestion! Downtown St Pete’s festive setup along the waterfront. The vibe in North & South Straub Park never disappoints this time of year. I encourage you to head over and see for yourself! 🎄

Santa is in Downtown St Petersburg!

As a bonus, the jolly big man takes toy requests from children every evening on his sleigh. Specifically, from 6-9pm in North Straub, until December 23rd. You might say, “You serious Clark?”. Why yes I am. Saw Santa for myself when taking these pictures. He’s the real deal, even brought his reindeer to the park! #IBelieve
Here are a few of the pics, none of which do the area justice, though at least give you a general idea. While you can cover the park itself in just 10-15 minutes, there’s so much more within a 5 minute walk. Or simply grab a park bench, relax and take in the sights, sounds, and reflections off the water.

Much to See in Downtown St Pete

If you’re unfamiliar, North & South Straub are just a few minute walk to delicious restaurants, St. Pete Pier, The Vinoy Resort & Golf Club, Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille and everything else that downtown has to offer. I included a picture from Doc Ford’s, looking back toward the park. Can’t beat it. We enjoyed making our rounds last weekend and hope you do as well! Love the sailboat ‘Christmas Tree Sailboat’ in that first pic.

The parks will remain decorated until January 1st. For parking, simply use the Park Mobile app in most areas around the park (400 Bayshore Drive NE).

Mike Braswell is a Tampa Bay Realtor, serving St Petersburg, Clearwater, all nearby beaches and more. Mike started LovingStPete in October of 2020 after a difficult year took its toll on local businesses. After being cooped up for portions of 2020 (lockdown) Mike and his son decided to get out and explore, helping spread the good word about the local area he loves so much. Often even doing gift card giveaways to support local. LovingStPete is now followed by over 48 thousand people on social media! The majority of posts are informative on fun parks, activities, day trips, great restaurants, and in general provide a comprehensive tour of the area!

Soon after receiving his bachelors in Management Information Systems, Mike developed and then operated a vacation rental advertising business for 10+ years as CEO/Owner. The business was eventually acquired by VRBO. Mike has earned the trust of many large clients over the years. Such as NFL, Wynn Resorts, Blue Cross Blue Shield, VISA, Genuine Parts Company (NAPA Auto Parts), AT&T, and other Fortune 500 companies.

When not spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic son, Mike enjoys boating and is also an avid tennis player. An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
