Delicious Engine No9 Burgers in St Petersburg

Let’s talk about Engine No9 near downtown St Pete! Creative burgers, hot dogs, craft beer, and more. With an excellent 4.7/5 on Google Reviews and 3K+ reviews, I’m thinking a number of you know it.

Sophisticated Culinary Prime Burgers in St Pete

While I’ve written up other local burger joints, Engine No9 is THE go-to for some of our foodie friends. What’s your favorite burger spot around the Tampa Bay Area? Would love if you added it to the comments! Located in the Edge district and serving up Prime Black Angus burgers, Engine No9 is often voted the ‘best burger’ here locally.

Blackhawks and Lightning Background at Engine No9

Interesting fact is that it’s owned by the son of Tampa Bay Lightning founder, Tony Esposito! Jason is Tony’s son and Engine #9’s owner who I’m referring to above. While Tony and his brother Phil helped bring the Lightning to Tampa Bay, the family is a bit divided during hockey season. They’re both former Chicago Blackhawk players. Whether you’re a Lightning fan or moved here from the Windy City, add Engine No9 to your list during hockey season! They have TV’s for sports, including one at each table in the back dining area.

Back to the Delicious Burgers and Other Food

These aren’t your average hamburgers with the typical toppings. These are culinary creations, with toppings curated for each specialty burger. For instance…

“Demi-God”: Cheddar, Swiss, Sautéed Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions & Horseradish Mayo.

“One Bad Pig”: Garlic Pork, White Cheddar, Mustard Braised Onion, Fried Pancetta and Chipotle Mayo.

“The Saint”: Short Rib/ Brisket Patty Blend, Muenster Cheese, Bacon, Beer Battered Chicken, Crispy Potato Pancake, Creole Mustard Smothered with Gravy.

“Wino-O”: Red Wine BBQ Sauce, Bacon, Aged White Cheddar & Fried Onions.

Can see why they advertise “Offering A Sophisticated Flare On Gourmet Prime Beef Burgers.” You could try a new burger every day for several weeks!

They certainly also offer salads, several hot dog options, four entrees (ie Jambalaya Pasta) and plenty of starters. So the next time you have a craving, head to local Engine #9 instead of a big chain. #SupportLocal

Mike Braswell is a Tampa Bay Realtor, serving St Petersburg, Clearwater, all nearby beaches and more. Mike started LovingStPete in October of 2020 after a difficult year took its toll on local businesses. After being cooped up for portions of 2020 (lockdown) Mike and his son decided to get out and explore, helping spread the good word about the local area he loves so much. Often even doing gift card giveaways to support local. LovingStPete is now followed by over 48 thousand people on social media! The majority of posts are informative on fun parks, activities, day trips, great restaurants, and in general provide a comprehensive tour of the area!

Soon after receiving his bachelors in Management Information Systems, Mike developed and then operated a vacation rental advertising business for 10+ years as CEO/Owner. The business was eventually acquired by VRBO. Mike has earned the trust of many large clients over the years. Such as NFL, Wynn Resorts, Blue Cross Blue Shield, VISA, Genuine Parts Company (NAPA Auto Parts), AT&T, and other Fortune 500 companies.

When not spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic son, Mike enjoys boating and is also an avid tennis player. An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
