Florida Railroad Museum Train Ride and Robbery

Published on 01/09/21: Today’s adventure leads us to the Florida Railroad Museum in Parrish! Boarding now and little did Colt know, there was about to be a train robbery.

Just a 35-40 minute drive from St Pete, the countryside opens to sprawling farmland and the Florida Railroad Museum! While train rides are regularly scheduled, the museum plans special events like this gold heist, adding an additional element to an already unique experience!

Colt was excited to simply ride the train, so add in the surprise of cowboys and dynamite during our journey, he was living his best life for 90 minutes. Special event pro-tip, make sure to ask an employee which portion (and side) of the train will have the best viewing and sit accordingly.

We are especially excited about returning for their annual Polar Express event in December and likely the murder mystery or campfire/cookout rides!  Our ride was around 90 minutes and included some very pretty scenery.

Thank you Florida Railroad Museum and volunteers for all you do as a non-profit to keep the museum and trains running smoothly, preserving Florida’s railroad history. (The museum currently books at 50% capacity and most of the train is open air. Our cost yesterday was $16/adult & $12/child)
