Great Explorations Children’s Museum in St Pete

Published on 10/05/20: While St. Petersburg has an abundance of sunny days, we occasionally need indoor activities when tropical showers roll into the area. Fortunately, there are plenty of options for indoor fun! Yesterday, between showers, we made a dash to the Great Explorations Children’s Museum. Located on 4th Street near downtown St. Petersburg.

Great Explorations – lots of fun for Children!

Great Ex provides hours of fun for the young ones, especially those 6 and under. You may notice a blur in some of the pics, that would be our 5 year old racing from one activity to the next. We get it. It’s difficult to choose between a fire station, pizza making area, grocery store, shoreline/beach setup, Legos, HUGE foam building set, couple story tall climbing area, slides, puppet theater, hurricane wind machine and everything else.

You can sign up for annual membership starting at $125/family or pay per visit @ $15/person. Note, at the time of this writing, Great Ex is limiting spots and you must pre-reserve for your fam. #ProTip: if no reservations are available online, arrive soon after the time slot begins and you’ll ‘likely’ be cleared in 15-20 minutes. That’s exactly what we did yesterday and sure enough, at 3:20pm, some of those with reservations didn’t show, making room for our family!
