Gulfport Brewery + Eatery – Only 10 Minutes from St Pete

Published on 06/08/22: While I’ve focused a good bit on Gulfport lately, it’s only 4.2 miles (9 minutes) from St Pete and one of the closest beach areas. As I work to wrap up Gulfport, I’ll continue mixing in other St Pete Favorites as well. For instance, an Italian market called Mazzaro’s is up shortly! 🙂

Gulfport Brewery + Eatery!

As our family explored Gulfport over the last couple months, one of our favorite spots has become Gulfport Brewery. Live music, cozy indoor atmosphere, outdoor ambience with string lights, plus great food and drink! This neighborhood brew pub was slated to open in early 2020, though pushed back to June 2020 due to the Covid curveball. Owners are Matt Acree, Echo Bartlett and Jason Toft. With Donald Campbell (RIP) playing a significant role as well in the early development.

Converted House into Brewery – Cozy Inside

While they opened at a difficult time, Gulfport Brewery has thrived inside the converted home they selected to house the business! As with most everything Gulfport, we’re talking ‘laid back vibe’. Inside offers sofas and comfortable chairs, plus bar stools around a bar that provides the perfect spot to catch up with neighbors.

Then head outside to their beer garden for live music. Think acoustic music under the stars and string lights. If we had our way, every casual outdoor area we visit would have white string lights to set the mood. Maybe it takes us back to our rehearsal dinner, where my parents strung white lights through our avocado trees and patio, welcoming our guests to the wedding weekend. Either way, we love what the owners have done with both the inside and outside of Gulfport Brewery!

Delicious Snacks and Entrees

Hungry? We were pleasantly surprised to find a great selection of snacks and entrees. We know it’s not always possible for breweries to have a full kitchen, but in this case they do! “Our team strives the bring delicious eats with our scratch kitchen”. Flatbreads, loaded tater tots, salads (ie Blackened Shrimp Cesar), gourmet hot dogs (including a vegan wiener), plus shrimp, chicken and mojo tacos. And don’t forget about the mojo pork sliders and 420 nachos. On weekends, they often offer rotating specials, different than their standard menu. So make sure to ask if you’re visiting on a weekend!

GULFPORT GOLD 🏝

4.5% ABV 12 IBU – Pale American Wheat Ale – light golden ale with about 25% wheat malt for a bready, doughy malt profile. It then gets an addition of four hop varietals that contribute tropical fruit and citrus peel notes.

DRUNKEN LULLABIES

5.4% ABV 28 IBU – English Pale Ale – Brewed with the finest malts they could source, this English Pale Ale presents “malty-sweet with a floral & spicy hop character from Oregon-grown US Goldings hops.”

UNSTEADY FREDDY IPA 🏝

7.3% ABV 63 IBU- Azacca & Strata hops showcase a bright profile of mango, pineapple, citrus peel, and 420 flavor.
