HarvestMoon Fun Farm Fall Festival
HarvestMoon Fun Farm Fall Festival
Published on 10/15/21: Sixteen tickets to the HarvestMoon Fun Farm are up for grabs! Two followers on Instagram and two on Facebook will each win four tickets. To enter, simply comment w/ the HarvestMoon activity your kids (or you) look forward to the most. Colt would love if you tag someone you’ll invite if you win. Consider entering on Instagram as well (2K vs 12K followers…just saying). Official rules: https://bit.ly/2ZEL7Z7
Colt digs farms, pumpkin patches and fall festivals. Keep in mind that some of them are 40-60+ minutes from St. Pete, thus falling under our #LovingStPeteDayTrips series. Having grown up on our avocado farm (dad is still shipping to a Publix/Winn Dixie near you), driving him an hour to hang out in rural areas is an easy sell for me. A win-win.
This weekend we chose HarvestMoon Fun Farm, which has 422 Google Reviews with a 4.4/5 avg.
Parking Tip
First a parking tip. As you approach, you’ll see cars parking alongside the road up to .4 miles away. Don’t follow the crowd, forge ahead to the lot near the ticket booth. We bucked the trend and parked just a few steps from the entrance! Worth checking, especially if you have kids and ‘stuff’.
Once You’re Inside the Fun Farm
Once through the gates, you’ll find a 22 acre farm with corn maze, huge trampoline area, football & baseball accuracy toss (I want the football one!), haunted trail, petting zoo, pumpkins for sale, a large slide, a ‘cow roping’ setup, various games, a trailer ride, Candy Cannon, plus much more. Make sure to listen for when they announce “The Candy Cannon is firing soon” so you can move to the pumpkin barn near the action. The kids got a kick out of candy shooting up 100 feet and raining down. I’ll post the slow-mo video to our stories. Also, Colt loved the Apple Cider Slushy…and Amy agreed, saying others “must try!”.
There’s also gem mining ($6’ish addl fee) and a swing ride (addl fee). Colt loves gem mining and we felt like the $ was well worth it. Keep in mind this is from a family who values activities/experiences over even dining chairs. Lol. (3+ years w/ a new table and no chairs, though Colt’s visited 6 countries) He’s still sorting his gems 5 days later, so we’ll chalk it up as a win.
HarvestMoon Fun Farm Owners
HarvestMoon Fun Farm is owned by Demetri and Christina Falakos. They purchased to show their 2 sons “…what it takes to work on a farm. We also wanted something fun for family to enjoy together and spread upon others.” We coincidentally sat next to Demetri on the trailer ride. Super nice and working hard! After seeing the work he was putting in to keep the operating running smoothly, it made our 1hr drive a no-brainer to support and motivated the writing of this post.
