Holidays in Downtown St Petersburg Florida – Snow, Ice Skating & more | Video

Published on 12/09/21 (scroll down for video): If you haven’t visited downtown St Pete recently, the holidays are certainly a great opportunity. We’re all lucky to live in such an incredible area!

Here’s an ‘itinerary’ we ran with this week, including a quick video of what you might expect if you do the same. (plus Colt attempting ⛸ at the end – haha 💪)
Start at the Sundial St. Pete so the kids (or you) can play in the falling ‘snow’. Their forecast calls for snow showers every half hour between 6pm and 9pm until Dec 24th.

Winter Beach St Petersburg

Ideally arrive to the Sundial before 6pm and grab a seat on Sea Salt St. Pete’s outdoor patio overlooking the snow. Why prior to 6pm? Their happy hour ends at 6! So make sure to place your order prior, to enjoy discounted food and drink. We love Sea Salt! [queue us ordering at 5:55pm, enough to last us a couple snow storms] From there, walk .8 miles to the St. Pete Pier for what’s been setup as ‘Winter Beach’. If you prefer driving, parking is typically available around the pier near Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grille (at least during the week, weekends are more difficult). Simply pay via the Park Mobile phone app.

Note that ‘Winter Beach’ is not directly on the pier, it’s technically located in Spa Beach Park, just a few steps from the pier. Here you’ll find ice skating, food, drink, decorations and a few games for the kids. All of this is of course overlooking the pier, Tampa Bay and incredible downtown skyline.

Ice Skating St Petersburg

If you choose to ice skate, tickets are $17/each for all ages. Your ticket is good for 75 minutes of skating. Please visit their website for full hours, pricing, holiday schedule, etc. We purchased online ahead of time. https://www.winterbeachstpete.com/ice-skating

You’ll see that *in general*, the skating hours are 4pm-11pm during the week and 11am-11pm on the weekends. They offer extended hours between Dec 20th and 31st (ie open past midnight for New Years Eve).

Winter Beach runs from November 20 – January 17.
