Jay Luigi Italian Restaurant in St Petersburg

Published on 01/10/24: Jay Luigi in St Pete! A family favorite of ours when it comes to quick and casual Italian food. First, happy anniversary to my wife! These 14 years have flown by in the blink of an eye. Grateful for everything she does, her patience, plus supporting my ol’ Loving St Pete.❤️ PaperFinch Design

Great Menu, plus Alcohol, Desserts, and Brunch

Alright, who knows the delicious Jay Luigi St. Pete? The entire menu is fantastic, plus they offer wine, beer, seltzers, ciders, desserts, brunch specials (Saturday & Sunday), and options for kids. That’s not all. Those who seek gluten free, vegetarian, and dairy free selections, will find them at Jay Luigi.
This may be one of those where I receive “shh, that’s supposed to be a secret” in my messages.😬 It’s so good and averages around $6 less an entree than a few other Italian restaurants we’ve visited. However, many drive right by it, blending in with everything else on 4th Street.

Tagline: “We don’t turn tables. We turn tables into community.” You know I like that one. #community
As with all restaurants, when I heard Jay Luigi was opening (Jan ‘22), I wondered if it would be great and if it would last. However, I immediately knew the answer when I read the Ciccio Restaurant Group was heading it up.

Operated by the Ciccio Restaurant Group

I spent the good part of 2 years eating bowl after tasty bowl from Ciccio’s (now renamed CALI – South Tampa, Tampa Palms, St. Pete, Brandon). And to this day, when friends and family visit, they say “is that Ciccio Cali place still here? Please include that on our lunch list.” Another post for another day…
To sum up Jay Luigi: It was started by Jay Brunetti and the CIccio Restaurant Group. “We offer casual Italian dining in beautiful St. Petersburg, FL. Fresh Pastas, naturally fermented Roman & NY-apolitan Style pizzas, all made with the guiding principle: quality without compromise. We share our love of food with our community, by serving our neighbors with the same devotion that we extend to our own family and friends.”

Mike Braswell is a Tampa Bay Realtor, serving St Petersburg, Clearwater, all nearby beaches and more. Mike started LovingStPete in October of 2020 after a difficult year took its toll on local businesses. After being cooped up for portions of 2020 (lockdown) Mike and his son decided to get out and explore, helping spread the good word about the local area he loves so much. Often even doing gift card giveaways to support local. LovingStPete is now followed by over 48 thousand people on social media! The majority of posts are informative on fun parks, activities, day trips, great restaurants, and in general provide a comprehensive tour of the area!

Soon after receiving his bachelors in Management Information Systems, Mike developed and then operated a vacation rental advertising business for 10+ years as CEO/Owner. The business was eventually acquired by VRBO. Mike has earned the trust of many large clients over the years. Such as NFL, Wynn Resorts, Blue Cross Blue Shield, VISA, Genuine Parts Company (NAPA Auto Parts), AT&T, and other Fortune 500 companies.

When not spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic son, Mike enjoys boating and is also an avid tennis player. An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
