LEGOLAND Winter Haven - Day Trip Tips
LEGOLAND – Within Two Hours of Tampa Bay Area
Post 1 of 2: Our #LovingStPeteDayTrips series feature activities within a 2 hour drive of St. Pete, doable in a day. On Sunday we tackled the LEGOLAND Theme Park! (not their Water Park quite yet)
LEGOS are one of Colt’s favorite activities, though usually with mom. They even plan to be on the LEGO Masters TV show as a team one day. 🤷🏼♂️ Admittedly, LEGOS just aren’t in my bag. We’ve found my time is best spent outside with him 🏈 🎾🎣 and on our father/son adventures around town.
Long story short, when LEGOLAND offered $99 annual passes for Florida residents, we jumped on it as it’s a blend of something for everyone. The $99 deal was a savings of $50 per ticket, 33% off.

Driving in From Tampa/St.Pete:
Only 90 minutes from St. Pete, LEGOLAND is fairly easy to reach by their 10am opening. Unlike Disney, reservations are not currently required, though if they reach ‘capacity’ you’ll be denied entry (per call with LL). This is one reason we tried to arrive soon after opening.
Upon arrival you’ll find that parking is free for pass holders, though you can pay $10 to upgrade to ‘preferred parking’ – a covered lot, very near the entrance. We opted for the upgrade and within 10 minutes we were inside the gates and on our first ride.

An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
