Lights of Lake Park Estates in Largo Florida, Near St Petersburg

Published on 12/08/22 (scroll down for video):

Heads up on an activity to partake in between now and December 31st, The Lights of Lake Park Estates! While you can view the lights by walking through, most people slowly drive through the 3 miles of lights. Viewing times are from 6pm to 10pm each night. We enjoyed our drive last year, with travel mugs of hot chocolate in hand.

While there are 3 miles of mostly decorated homes, the 5 homes in my video took the next step, synchronizing their lights to music! A sign at the first home tells you to switch your car radio to a particular station.

Best time to visit Lights of Lake Park Estates?

If you plan to visit, I’d suggest doing so sooner rather than later, as traffic backs up closer to Christmas. Another recommendation is to go closer to 6pm if possible. Last year, we waited until around 7:30pm and just a couple days before Christmas. This meant a 30-45 minute wait in the line of cars, though no big deal, especially given the story behind this event: “The Lights of Lake Park Estates originated in 1993 to celebrate the life of our neighbor, Ruby Dow, and salute the care she received from our community hospice, Suncoast Hospice […] the  neighborhoods of Lake Park Estates, Wieker, Lakeside Estates, and Lake Seminole Village, generously decorate their homes and yards with over 3.0 miles of Christmas Lights and Decorations for the public to enjoy”.

Plan to Walk through Lights of Lake Park Estates?

Note if you plan to walk, per the website, there’s no parking within the neighborhood itself. You’ll want to park outside and then walk in. Here are some intersection addresses from their website which will get you to the neighborhood. Note that some GPS’s say “Largo” and others say “Seminole”.
