Museum of Fine Arts in St Pete – Art in Bloom

Published on 03/28/21: Yesterday, my wife suggested that we visit the Museum of Fine Arts for their annual ‘Art in Bloom’ event. As MFA describes it “Art in Bloom is the MFA’s signature spring event which showcases the museum’s collection in full bloom with dozens of floral designs inspired by the art and galleries. Floral interpretations are displayed in the museum’s collection galleries and gardens Thursday, March 25 – Sunday, March 28 and are included with admission.”

She simply purchased tickets for us online ($20) and we were on our way. Header to St Pete’s first waterfront museum, open to the public since 1965. Masks are required and capacity is limited. There were no crowds and it worked out well for an afternoon along the water.

As an artist, Amy especially enjoyed the exhibit. It is indeed interesting to see how the florists interpreted the art using a vast array of flowers. Also learned that the process to water the flowers requires much precision, given the expensive art surrounding them!
