Florida Train Museum’s North Pole Express

Published on 12/16/23: The North Pole Express! We recently returned from another visit and can confirm this ‘adventure’ is still a winner. 🚂 Our second year taking the 45 minute train ride to the North Pole festivities and it didn’t disappoint. I also can confirm no one in our family has siderodromophobia, more on that below.

Locomotive Train Ride for the Holidays

Decorated locomotive with roaming carolers, fires for roasting s’mores, lots and lots of “snow”, visit with Santa, and much more. While this adventure is a splurge compared to many I suggest (often < $10 or free), this one has provided great memories for my son and others, so it’s on my list. Plus, the Florida Railroad Museum has other train excursions available. So if nothing else, consider one of those after the holidays!

North Pole Express Tickets Sell Out Fast

I gave the heads up in August that NPE tickets were going on sale and would sell out quickly. Well, at least seats for the early evening departure vs the trip that returns beyond some bedtimes. That happened, though I see a few tickets (< 10) available if you’re flexible on timing and seating.

ie I don’t see 3 seats together, so if someone has siderodromophobia, maybe use the limited seating as an excuse to opt out so rest of family can go. Fear of trains. 😬 Anyone?

Train Rides are Simply Fun!

Admittedly, part of the appeal for our family is riding aboard a full-size locomotive. Trains receive a big ol’ 👍 in our book. But then add in everything else and it becomes an especially memorable trip.

Whether you grab one of the remaining tickets, monitor for cancellations, or this post leads to a calendar reminder for next year, here’s a quick reel of what to expect. This is from our recent trip. 🎄
