Pinellas Paddlers in St Petersburg, Florida – Kayak and Sup

Published on 06/27/23: Meet the Pinellas Paddlers! If you or someone you know enjoys kayaking or paddle boarding, this is the group for you! Shout out to them for taking full advantage of our beautiful area.

A few days ago, we boated to a sandbar with friends, an inlet at Shell Key. We were on the point in the second pic, though quickly noticed this fun group across from us on kayaks and SUPs.

The Pinellas Paddlers are Serious!

They were hanging out by the “tree” when we arrived and still socializing when we left! We were there for 4+ hours.

They were in it to win it, we were no match! [yet] #trainingwheels

I took this pic and posted in a broader group to find out their story. Turns out they’re called the Pinellas Paddlers, a group of 7K+ on Facebook! (no Instagram account)

They’re always organizing meetups around the Tampa Bay Area, answering questions for newbies, and much more. Consider giving them a follow if this is up your alley!

St Pete and Clearwater Auburn Tigers – Pinellas County

My Auburn flag got in the way a bit on one of the photos, apologies. Somewhat appropriate though, since an Auburn couple founded BOTE. Corey and Magna Cooper are ‘05 grads who made some wise decisions along the way.

If you know any local Tigers (alumni and/or fans) have them give St. Pete-Clearwater Auburn Alumni Affiliate a follow. A non-profit some of us created to foster school spirit and help local HS students attend AU through scholarship awards. Cadillac Williams even joined us for a game!

We also offer pamphlets on “War Eagle” and “Tigers”, with MythBusters avail to disprove that we’re a hybrid Tiger Eagle, something only Napoleon Dynamite could dream up.

When not spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic son, Mike enjoys boating and is also an avid tennis player. An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
