Shrimpys Blues Bistro Seafood and Cajun

Published on 06/25/21: For our next #SupportLocal giveaway, we purchased two gift cards from Shrimpys Blues Bistro in SPB!  Read below on how to enter on Facebook and Instagram. 🍴

Live Music and New Orleans Fusion

Our family loves live music, loves being waterfront and loves seafood. Put them together and you have a trifecta called Shrimpys Blues Bistro! Located on the beautiful intracoastal waterway between SPB and Treasure Island (3 min from beach), Shrimpys serves up “New Orleans and Florida Fusion”. They have two liquor bars, 25 beers on draft, indoor & outdoor seating and offer a happy hour M-F with “light fare & drink specials all priced at $4.20”! Plus they typically have live music Sun-Thur (6pm-10pm) and Fri-Sat (6:30pm – 10:30pm).

St Pete Foodies Agree

I very much enjoyed their ‘World Famous Torpedo’ – shrimp & scallops sauteed in Nola Butter stuffed into a hollowed French loaf. To Colt’s dismay, I also had to try the Raw Oyster Shooters for you all. They were great! Here’s a St Pete Foodies article validating our thoughts on Shrimpys: .

Richard Briggs – Passion From Owner

I even found these comments under another article: “I used to be the night chef here before moving to Biloxi, and can personally attest to the owner Richard Briggs’ absolute passion and pride in his little place on the beach. It shows in everything he does. He does big things out of a small kitchen!”
Definitely check out Shrimpys soon! If you take Uber/Lyft, show them your trip receipt for $5 off a drink! (one per check)
With our LovingStPete headquarters shifting to #StPeteBeach for a while, you may notice a slight shift as we spread love to restaurants and activities on the Gulf side. So for those in the ‘city’, worst case is that you drive 25 minutes to the #1 beach in the USA. 😊 Not so bad living in Pinellas County!
To enter, simply comment on Facebook and/or Instagram with a location (anywhere in the world) that you look forward to visiting one day (or again!). I’d also love if you tagged who you’ll bring to Shrimpys if you win. The two winners will be drawn Monday night 6/28. Official rules:

Mike Braswell is a Tampa Bay Realtor, serving St Petersburg, Clearwater, all nearby beaches and more. Mike started LovingStPete in October of 2020 after a difficult year took its toll on local businesses. After being cooped up for portions of 2020 (lockdown) Mike and his son decided to get out and explore, helping spread the good word about the local area he loves so much. Often even doing gift card giveaways to support local. LovingStPete is now followed by over 48 thousand people on social media! The majority of posts are informative on fun parks, activities, day trips, great restaurants, and in general provide a comprehensive tour of the area!

Soon after receiving his bachelors in Management Information Systems, Mike developed and then operated a vacation rental advertising business for 10+ years as CEO/Owner. The business was eventually acquired by VRBO. Mike has earned the trust of many large clients over the years. Such as NFL, Wynn Resorts, Blue Cross Blue Shield, VISA, Genuine Parts Company (NAPA Auto Parts), AT&T, and other Fortune 500 companies.

When not spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic son, Mike enjoys boating and is also an avid tennis player. An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
