Skyline Chili in Clearwater Florida

Published on 11/02/20: Ohioans, your delicious secret is out. We were recently introduced to Skyline Chili by some Cincinnati natives and will return! Skyline is about 20-25 minutes north of St Pete, however was worth the drive for some Midwest culture. We’re talking wearing bibs and eating hot dogs covered in chili, cheese, onions, and mustard.

We also dug into their other famous dish, spaghetti covered in chili, cheese, onions, and even beans if you so choose (the ‘5-way’). Plus their signature hot sauce on all of the above if you so wish. Skyline’s chili isn’t your typical chili. Try some and see if you can put your finger on the seasonings. Hint, the flavors seem in perfect harmony with the Fall season. Oh, and they have a play area with books/toys to help entertain active young ones!

Nestled on the Gulf Coast of Florida, Clearwater is renowned for its stunning beaches, vibrant nightlife, and charming downtown. But for those who are craving a unique culinary experience, there’s a gem in town that brings a taste of Cincinnati right to the Sunshine State—Skyline Chili. Known for its distinctive blend of spices and rich, savory flavors, Skyline Chili is a must-visit for both locals and tourists alike.

What Makes Skyline Chili Special?

Skyline Chili isn’t just any chili. Originating from Cincinnati, Ohio, it’s a regional favorite that has garnered a loyal following thanks to its one-of-a-kind recipe. The secret lies in its unique spice blend, which includes cinnamon, cloves, and chocolate, creating a flavor profile that is both complex and comforting. Unlike the typical chili, Skyline Chili is more of a meat sauce, which is traditionally served over spaghetti or hot dogs, and topped with a mound of shredded cheddar cheese.

The Cincinnati classic has earned its place in the hearts and stomachs of many, and its expansion to Clearwater is a testament to its widespread appeal. Whether you’re a Cincinnati native or a first-time taster, Skyline Chili in Clearwater offers an authentic experience that stands true to its roots.
