Sub Zero St Pete – Nitrogen Ice Cream!

Published on 08/01/21: Gayle and Gene opened Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream because “there’s something about ice cream that’s bigger than food. Ice cream is magic, people always leave happy. Our mission is to make people’s day better.”

Giveaway on Facebook and Instagram

While Colt and I originally visited without a write-up in mind, after seeing the process, tasting the ice cream and meeting the hard-working owner behind the counter, here’s the write-up! In fact, we’ll choose two followers on Wednesday morning (8/4) to each receive a twenty-dollar gift card for @subzerostpete !

To Enter, simply comment on Facebook or Instagram on whether you would opt for a warm soft waffle with your ice cream or no waffle. We would love for you to tag who you’ll bring if you win! They offer vegan, keto, low fat, sugar-free, and other alternatives, so hopefully many of you will enter!

What Sub Zero St Pete Offers

Colt and I chose Sub Zero for a treat after reading the great reviews (4.6 of 481 Google reviews). The nearly 5.0 rating was spot on, as this is more than great ice cream, this is science. We’re talking liquid nitrogen freezing fresh cream into your customized treat as you watch. Colt loved that aspect in addition to the delicious ice cream. If you missed my video ‘story’ showing the cloud-like smoke as they made our ice cream, I just reposted it.
They offer more flavors and ‘mix-ins’ than we imagined, so we pivoted to one of the twelve concoctions they suggest. Colt opted for the ‘Chocolate Conduction’, which is chocolate ice cream, brownie bites, chocolate flakes and fudge topping. It was this or the ‘Key Lime Voltage’, with Lime/Cheesecake, graham cracker & cheesecake bites. We opted to have it wrapped in a warm ‘bubble waffle’, made in front of us as well. Colt and I both highly recommend!

I especially appreciate that Gayle frequently partners w/ schools and camps, teaching kids about the science while they eat the ice cream. She also does plenty of catering, weddings, engagement parties, & corporate events. Simply message Gayle at @SubZeroStPete to plan your event!

Mike Braswell is a Tampa Bay Realtor, serving St Petersburg, Clearwater, all nearby beaches and more. Mike started LovingStPete in October of 2020 after a difficult year took its toll on local businesses. After being cooped up for portions of 2020 (lockdown) Mike and his son decided to get out and explore, helping spread the good word about the local area he loves so much. Often even doing gift card giveaways to support local. LovingStPete is now followed by over 48 thousand people on social media! The majority of posts are informative on fun parks, activities, day trips, great restaurants, and in general provide a comprehensive tour of the area!

Soon after receiving his bachelors in Management Information Systems, Mike developed and then operated a vacation rental advertising business for 10+ years as CEO/Owner. The business was eventually acquired by VRBO. Mike has earned the trust of many large clients over the years. Such as NFL, Wynn Resorts, Blue Cross Blue Shield, VISA, Genuine Parts Company (NAPA Auto Parts), AT&T, and other Fortune 500 companies.

When not spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic son, Mike enjoys boating and is also an avid tennis player. An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
