Indoor St Petersburg Activity
This summer I’ve mainly written up free outdoor adventures. However, it’s also super hot right now and being outside isn’t always ideal. I’ve received messages asking for ‘indoor’ suggestions. Completely get it!
Here’s a COOL activity we’ve been enjoying, while at the same time reliving my childhood. Bowling at family owned Sunrise Lanes in St Pete. Nice place, support local! @SunriseLanesStPete

Colt’s hair blowing in the hand dryer of the ball return, gazing into the conveyer awaiting his ball, bumpers out, pizza, all things I remember growing up. And they keep the place cold!
Until Sept 1st, kids bowl free for 1 hour a day, from 9am until 4pm, Monday thru Friday. You’ll still pay for shoe rental, but every bit helps. Put something on your calendar for next week!
Register for Free Bowling
Simply register on their website for the daily free coupon. Tip: I’d recommend showing up by 3pm, because if you show up at 3:45pm, you’ll have just 15 minutes of free kids bowling. 😬 One coupon can be used per person per child (ages 2-14), when lanes are available. We’ve always been able to get a lane.

You can also host birthday bowling parties at either bowling center. In fact, just attended one this past weekend! Kids had a blast.

“Jerry Krauss & Fred Hoyer moved their young families to Pinellas Park and opened Sunshine Bowl with 16 lanes on Dec 20th, 1957. [subsequently destroyed by a fire] Krauss and Hoyer added Seminole Lanes in 1976 and Sunrise Lanes (formally known as Meadowlawn Lanes) in 1980.”
