Located on Central Ave in Downtown St Pete, The Burg B&G features many burgers and sandwiches, including their famous Gyro Feta Burger…

Greek Influence

You’ll notice a Greek influence across some menu items, explanation below. I should also note, The Burg offers many options outside of burgers and sandwiches, including Wings, Salads, Chicago Dog, Philly Cheese, and Steak Tacos!

Locally Owned by Bill Georgiou

Bill Georgiou is the USF grad who started The Burg Bar & Grill after operating his family’s Greek restaurants here locally. His mom Maria is responsible for contributing family recipes that help make the restaurant…and same with their Burg Diner, which I’ll write up down the road!

I found this in an article on the St Pete Catalyst:

“the 1960s and ‘70s, the Georgiou family visited the Tampa Bay area regularly, as a sunny respite from the frozen tundra of Windsor, Ontario. They resided in Greece for a few years. In the early ‘80s, they moved the whole enterprise to Pinellas County. The family’s first Floridian endeavor was a Seminole Blvd restaurant called Grecian Gardens. Mama Maria prepared the food, based on family recipes, and everyone – young Bill included – waited tables and worked the kitchen.”

Such as NFL, Wynn Resorts, Blue Cross Blue Shield, VISA, Genuine Parts Company (NAPA Auto Parts), AT&T, and other Fortune 500 companies.

When not spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic son, Mike enjoys boating and is also an avid tennis player. An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
