RESTAURANTS:

The Dewey Beach Bar and Grill, plus Rooftop Bar. Located in the Berkeley Beach Club @ 109 8th Ave. We love the modern coastal vibe! Their trendy rooftop bar provides a backdrop of gulf views to pair w/ fresh seafood (raw oysters & more). Addl details in 2 weeks, plus *$150* of gift cards!

Paradise Sweets, 709 Gulf Way. This is THE community spot for ice cream and sweets! Colt’s favorite. Paradise Sweets

Brass Monkey, 709 Gulf Way. Gulf views, large drink/food menu & great place to watch the 🏈 game!

Paradise Grille, 900 Gulf Way. Very casual BEACHSIDE ambiance for food & drinks (mango margaritas!). Often have live music. Our family often visits for a simple beach breakfast, picnic table style.

Hurricane Seafood Restaurant, 102 9th Ave: A staple since 1977, ie Grouper sandwiches & Clam Chowder. Hurricane Seafood Restaurant
Sea Critters Café, 2007 Pass a Grille Way. On the IntraCoastal side w/ dockage. Colt & I visited last weekend for live music!

LODGING:

Don CeSar Hotel – built in 1928, the backdrop for many photos of SPB/PAG.

Beach Suites at the Berkeley Beach Club! More info to come in 2 weeks for our biweekly drawing!

SHORT HISTORY:

Indians fished and hunted around PAG for 10K years. Ferry boats began bringing visitors to PAG from Tampa in 1857, thus the claims of PAG being “oldest resort on Central Florida’s West Coast”. The 1st homesteader officially arrived in 1886, 1st hotel opened in 1901 (Bonhomie). Supposedly the “Pass-a-Grille” name comes from the French phrase Passe Aux Grilleurs (the passageway of the grillers) in honor of the fisherman who camped and first settled in PAG.

Mike Braswell is a Tampa Bay Realtor, serving St Petersburg, Clearwater, all nearby beaches and more. Mike started LovingStPete in October of 2020 after a difficult year took its toll on local businesses. After being cooped up for portions of 2020 (lockdown) Mike and his son decided to get out and explore, helping spread the good word about the local area he loves so much. Often even doing gift card giveaways to support local. LovingStPete is now followed by over 48 thousand people on social media! The majority of posts are informative on fun parks, activities, day trips, great restaurants, and in general provide a comprehensive tour of the area!

Soon after receiving his bachelors in Management Information Systems, Mike developed and then operated a vacation rental advertising business for 10+ years as CEO/Owner. The business was eventually acquired by VRBO. Mike has earned the trust of many large clients over the years. Such as NFL, Wynn Resorts, Blue Cross Blue Shield, VISA, Genuine Parts Company (NAPA Auto Parts), AT&T, and other Fortune 500 companies.

When not spending time with his beautiful wife and energetic son, Mike enjoys boating and is also an avid tennis player. An interesting fact about Mike is that he grew up on an avocado farm with over 15 varieties, some of which you can find in our local Publix/Winn Dixie as his dad still farms the same farm at 87 years old!
